THANKSGIVING CANNED FOOD DRIVE
Sonora Elementary's 6th grade is collecting canned food items from November 5-15th to benefit the ATCAA Food Bank which serves our local community. With the holidays approaching, ATCAA has indicated Stovetop Stuffing and Cranberry sauce are two of many items that are needed. Send canned food items to school with your student (no glass containers please) or drop them off at the school office now until November 15th.
SSS FAMILY BINGO NIGHT
Come join Support Sonora School for a Family Bingo Night on Friday, November 15 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Grab a dobber and join in the fun!
SAFTEY DURING CONSTRUCTION
Currently several areas are temporarily disrupted for construction of our new building. A fence surrounds the construction area to keep students out of the area.
Please do not enter the construction area and be extra cautious and safety minded whenever you visit the campus.
WANTED: CITIZENS OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE MEMBERS
The Sonora School Board is seeking “Parent “ and “Community” representatives to serve a four-year term on the Citizens Oversight Committee. The purpose of the Citizens Oversight Committee (COC) is to inform the public concerning the expenditures of bond revenues. The committee normally meets on a quarterly basis. An interested citizen would need to be a parent who has a child enrolled at Sonora Elementary or a person living within the Sonora Elementary school district boundaries. We are pleased to recognize a well-deserving student, Cheyenne Matyshock as our October Student of the Month.
Cheyenne is a bright, hard-working student, who always has a smile on her face and is willing to do more than what is asked of her, to get the job done. Cheyenne is an exceptional student, having maintained a 4.0 GPA. She is also a great athlete, with her main passion being softball, having played a number of years in travel softball. She has represented Sonora Elementary in basketball, volleyball and track. She plans to attend Sonora High next year and is looking forward to joining the Wildcat Softball program. In the future, she wants to pursue a career in the medical field and wants to explore the world, going on unique adventures. She believes the secret to success is to include everyone and treat people with respect. Great job, Cheyenne!
