At Sonora Elementary School, technology planning and evaluation are collaborated among the following stakeholders: certificated representative from K - 3rd grade; a certificated representative from 4th - 5th grade; and a certificated representative from 7th -8th grade; the classified technology technician; a parent representative; a school board member; the school site principal; and the superintendent.
The Technology Committee meets monthly with the representative group of certificated, classified, administrative staff and parents to monitor the plan and to consult on current practices, projects, and staff development. Special sub-committees have been utilized to inform the Technology Committee on progress made for certain focus projects such as the Macintosh Learning Labs; the SMART Board implementation; and computer lab development. On occasion, the Technology Committee has called upon students to assist in the evaluation of current education technology. Furthermore, the Technology Team has conducted presentations to the staff, parent board, and School Board on progress made with our Technology Plan.
