Sonora Elementary offers a variety of School Counseling Services.  The goal of our School Based Counseling Programs is to provide support to students in three basic areas, in accordance with the ASCA National Model, in academic development, career development, and personal and social development with an emphasis on school and academic success.  School counselor interventions include individual and group counseling, classroom presentations on academic, college and career, and personal and social topics.  Classroom presentations may focus on character education, anger management, improving communication skills, diversity, multiculturalism, bullying, and alcohol, drug, and tobacco abuse/misuse.  Lessons focus on school safety and creating a safe school environment and climate.  Please see the links below for more information on how to refer your child for school counseling services.
